Role: Producer, Editor, Production Company

In 2020, Patina Pictures produced 21 thirty-minute video conversations each with a promotional social media trailer – all captured remotely– for RingCentral’s Real Talk series. Working and talking with inspiring people such as
Expert Home Organizers and Netflix reality stars, Clea and Joanna, Tony Winner and Oscar Nominee Leslie Odom Jr., and the second woman to hold a full time NFL coaching position, Katie Sowers, was a beam of light in an otherwise dark year.

RingCentral:
When did you kind of see that shift going from just your own shop in Nashville, going from that business to all of a sudden being on something like Netflix?

Clea:
I think when we started to really start working in LA all the time. It was very hard for us to accept that we needed to bring on another full-time team. When you’re an organizer, you have some control issues.

Joanna:
We met each other in our different areas. Like Clea’s like “`I think you might need a business manager to help you with some of the expense stuff.” But I was like, “No, I can absolutely do it.”

Clea:
But I also saw her notebook and it looked like A Beautiful Mind with arrows and boxes and cross outs. And I was like, “Is this our company’s books?”

Joanna:
We’re both resistant in our own ways. I have been telling her she needs help with social media since the second month.

Clea:
But I was like, “No, I have to do Instagram.” Netflix broke me in three days.

Joanna:
The power of giving it away and what you can then use your time and energy for, is so magical that …

Clea:
You have to.

Joanna:
Yeah.

Clea:
You know, otherwise it’s not scalable.

Joanna:
It’s not.
